Gobo, Red, Mokey, Wembley and Boober are on stage in New London, with family activities before the show from 2pm. Every attendee needs a ticket, lap kids included.

SATURDAY OUTSIDE

Saturday · 10am–2pm · Waterford

Touch-a-Truck, pumpkin painting, a farmers market, craft and food vendors, and a free concert from noon to 2.

Dinner Club round two is almost full

Round two of the Shoreline Dinner Club is next Wednesday in downtown Mystic. You book one seat, I match the tables, and you meet the rest of the Crew over dinner. The $15.99 booking fee holds your seat. You pay for your own food and drinks at the restaurant, which I reveal the morning of.

What Lurks Beneath: Ghost Ship at Mystic Seaport

Mystic Seaport Museum, North Entrance at the Thompson Exhibition Building, 75 Greenmanville Ave · Mystic · $41–$46 adults, $29–$30 youth

The Seaport's Halloween show opens this weekend. It's self-guided and takes about 90 minutes, with timed entry every 15 minutes from 6 to 7:30pm. It's recommended for ages 8 and up, and there are no jump scares. Friday and Saturday tickets are $46 for adults and $30 for ages 4–17. Sunday tickets are $41 and $29, and members pay less. It runs on select nights through October 30.

Salt Marsh Opera's Rusalka at the UNITED

UNITED Theatre, Black Box Auditorium, 5 Canal St · Westerly · $52 balcony, $60 floor

Salt Marsh Opera's fall production is Dvořák's Rusalka, the Czech fairy tale about a water nymph who gives up her voice to become human and marry a prince. He leaves her for a foreign princess, and she becomes a cursed spirit. Tickets are on sale for both performances.

The Land You Stand On Opens at the Lyman Allyn

Lyman Allyn Art Museum, 625 Williams St · New London · workshop and talk free; reception free for members, $10 suggested for nonmembers

The museum's new exhibition, The Land You Stand On: Contemporary Art of Native and Indigenous Identity, opens with an afternoon program: a workshop at 1pm, a talk with artist Renee Castro at 2:30, then the opening reception from 4 to 6 with the Yootay Singers and a performance by Indira Urrutia. Each part has its own Eventbrite registration, or you can RSVP at 860-443-2545 ext. 2129. The show is up through January 24.

Two Plays Open Friday: The Crucible and To Kill a Mockingbird

The Granite Theatre, Westerly, and Niantic Bay Playhouse, Niantic · $25–$35

The Granite Theatre, 1 Granite St in Westerly, opens Arthur Miller's The Crucible, his play about the Salem witch trials, with shows Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 5pm ($30–$35). Niantic Bay Playhouse, 279 Main St in Niantic, opens Christopher Sergel's stage version of To Kill a Mockingbird, with shows Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm ($25–$30 plus fees). Sunday's Mockingbird matinee had only a few seats left as of Wednesday. Both plays run through October 25.
